Sligo - Game of My LIfe by Cathal Mullaney

Synopsis

This unique book is one of a family of books titled ‘Game of my Life’ which are being published in every county in Ireland – offering a magnificent oral history of over 60 years of success and failure on the football and hurling fields within each county.

The Sligo edition includes first person testimonials from the greatest footballers who wore the county colours from the 1970s to the last decade.

Some, including 1974 Connacht title winning hero, Mickey Kearins and Eamonn O’Hara (of The Sunday Game), are household names. All 30 of the footballers remember their time in the county’s famed black jerseys when Sligo fought valiantly to be the No1 team in Connacht and oust their more famous neighbours from Mayo and Galway.

It is a book to be treasured by every- one who has shared – on the field, and in the stands – one county’s courageous fight in the west.
